Susan Elsbree Joins Benchmark Strategies Leadership
Former City of Boston Director of Communications to lead Real Estate Development Public Relations Practice
(February 15, 2022 - Boston, Mass.) Benchmark Strategies, a leading public affairs company, today announced that Susan Elsbree has joined the growing public relations practice as a senior vice president. In this new role, she will lead the company’s real estate development communications practice. Elsbree comes to the firm after more than six years working for a full-service public relations agency, and after 16 years as the Director of Communications for the Boston Redevelopment Authority, the city's planning and economic development agency (d.b.a Boston Planning and Development Agency). In both the public and private sector’s Susan brings more than 20 years of experience in strategic communications and message development, media relations, and issues and crisis management.
At Benchmark, Elsbree will work with our team of experts on all aspects of the business. While she has a particular expertise in real estate development, navigating billions of dollars in commercial development projects through the public process, she will apply her skills to our growing clientele.
"We are excited to welcome Susan and her extensive background in real estate public relations to the Benchmark team," said Patrick Bench, President of Benchmark Strategies. “Susan brings strategic counsel and a passion for helping clients meaningfully connect with the audiences that matter to their business and drive growth.”
“I was drawn to Benchmark because of its people. We’re in the people business and Pat has assembled a smart, talented, energetic, and kind team,” said Elsbree. If the last few years have taught me anything, it is that quality of life matters most, and Pat values great work and great people. I’m excited to be joining them.”
